CUSTOM PLASTIC PRODUCTION: ROTOMOULDING (ROTOMOLDING)

From our very start, CZ PLAST has focused on a single technology for manufacturing plastic products - rotational plastic moulding, also known as rotomoulding.

The result is a hollow product, which can be modified into single-layer parts by additional processing of the semi-finished product. The advantage of this technology is the extraordinary variety of sizes, shapes, colours and potential applications of these rotationally moulded products. Products created by this technology can be seen in daily use in a wide range of industries, including production, agriculture, construction, military, leisure products, and so on.

ADVANTAGES OF ROTATIONAL PLASTIC MOULDING TECHNOLOGY

With our extensive experience in custom production, state-of-the-art technological equipment, and a team of experienced designers and engineers, we are fully equipped to tailor our rotational moulding services to meet your specific needs. Rotational moulding offers a unique combination of benefits that make it an ideal choice.

The advantages of plastic rotational moulding include:

  • Cost-effectiveness for small to medium-sized runs:
Rotational moulding is also even economical for smaller production runs, making it an attractive option for projects with limited volume.
  • Design flexibility and size variation:
Rotational moulding enables the production of a vast array of shapes and sizes, ranging from small tanks with capacities under one litre to large containers holding tens of thousands of litres.
  • Variable wall thickness:
Rotomoulding enables the production of products with varying wall thicknesses of up to several centimetres.
  • Integration of complex shapes and details:
It is possible to directly incorporate intricate shapes, threads, fittings, sockets, and so on into the plastic during the production process.
  • Applications of inserts:
Rotational moulding offers the advantage of incorporating inserts during the moulding process to create even more complex and precise details, for example, for fuel gauge flanges and fixing points.

PRODUCTION DESCRIPTION

Rotational moulding is a modern and widely used technology for the manufacturing of plastic products.

The process involves filling a mould with plastic powder and then slowly rotating the mould while it is heated. The combination of gravity, heat, the mould shape, and the slow rotation causes the plastic powder to melt and adhere to the inside of the mould, forming a hollow product. The resulting product is free of internal stress and seams, what’s more, it retains its shape memory. Polyethylene, polypropylene, and polyamide are commonly used in this type of production. Some of these materials are also available in different shades and colours.
